Our school cinema club is glad to share with you some photos of the exhibition it organised during the school opening day on March 2nd. Parents and future students at Georges Seurat middle school had the opportunity to see elaborate posters with the critics and advice of our members on the films they have watched since the beginning of this school year. The selection of films was based on the topics they address and on our cinema buffs’ taste. You could read their interesting analysis of films like Billy Elliot, The Help, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children or Wonder and many more ...
Writing critics was an engaging activity which required to work in groups and debate in English on various aspects of a film to convince or share your viewpoints : on each review, the visitors could read the analysis that our budding film critics made on the characters, the story, the script, the plot, the issues, the soundtracks, the setting or the feelings that the movie aroused.
Being part of the cinema club has been an enriching experience for all its members : they have learnt together about the history of the cinema in the English speaking world, the major films, series, directors or key actors and the different jobs on a film set. They have also improved their listening and writing skills, their historical knowledge on some aspects of British or American history and they have opened their minds to consider other opinions.
Enjoy the pictures of the exhibition !
